About the event

Curious about 3D printing but don't know where to start? Join EcoPress for a two-hour, beginner-friendly introduction to the world of manufacturing! We'll walk through the fundamentals of 3D printing, explore the equipment and materials, and show you how digital designs become physical objects.

Participants will learn about:

  • 3D Printing Basics (45 minutes): Understand how FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printers work, explore printer components, learn about filament types, and discover common applications.

  • File Preparation (20–30 minutes): Learn how to find a 3D model, import a file into slicing software, adjust basic print settings, and prepare a file for printing.

  • Live Printing Demonstration (45 minutes): Send your prepared file to the printer and watch the printing process in action as your digital design takes shape.

  • Questions & Discussion: Ask questions, explore possibilities, and learn how 3D printing can support creativity, prototyping, and sustainable manufacturing.
