About the event
Ever wondered what happens to your plastic after you toss it in the recycling bin?
Join EcoPress Sacramento for a two-hour virtual introduction to the world of plastic recycling! We'll break down the basics of plastic identification, resin codes (#1–#7), material properties, common recycling misconceptions, and the challenges that make certain plastics difficult to recycle.
Participants will learn how to identify different types of plastic, understand what makes a material recyclable, explore the recycling process from collection to end destination, and discover alternatives to traditional disposal through reuse, repurposing, and creative manufacturing.
We'll also discuss the importance of local recycling systems, the limitations of conventional recycling, and how community-based solutions can help keep valuable materials in circulation. The workshop will include dedicated time for questions and discussion, so bring your curiosity and your recycling questions!
Two hours. Real information. Less wishcycling.
